Discover East Java & Banyuwangi (3 days / 2 Nights)

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN BANYUWANGI (L/D)

Upon arrival at Blimbingsari Airport of Banyuwangi, pick-up service by our tour guide and go directly on city tour to visit Pendopo Sabha Swagatha, the official House of Banyuwangi regent since the reign of Joko Supaat Slamet regent. This building existed since the founding of the regency (or called Regentschap during the Dutch colonial era). Then visit Taman Sri Tanjung, a city park in the city of Banyuwangi. The park is named after a female character named Sri Tanjung in the legend of Banyuwangi. You will also visit a batik factory in Banyuwangi.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant.
Check in at hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 2: DISCOVER BANYUWANGI (B/L/D)

Early at around midnight, you will be met by our guide for preparation to climb Ijen crater. You will be transferred from the hotel to Pos Paltuding (first post before climbing) in about 1.5 hour drive. Upon arrival at Pos Paltuding, getting ready for climbing. You need flashlight, warm jacket, hiking shoes, gloves and masks. Start climbing to Ijen crater with a distance of about 3.5 km from the first post or about 1.5 hours climbing. Arriving at Ijen Crater, if the weather permits, you can see the phenomenon of Blue Fire at Ijen Crater.

After finish exploring the crater, slowly go down and after breakfast go on city tour to visit De Djawatan Benculuk, a forest region owned by Perhutani (a forestry state-owned company), also known as The Lord of the Rings forest. After that, visit the exotic hidden beach of Green Bay and Red Island.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant.
Back to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 3: DEPARTURES FROM BANYUWANGI (B)

After breakfast at hotel, check out hotel and go shopping for typical souvenirs of Banyuwangi. Transfer to the airport for the flight to the next destination.

Sabha Swagata Hall

Pendopo Sabha Swagata ‣ Pendopo Sabha Swagata Blambangan is the official house of Banyuwangi regent since the reign of Regent Joko Supaat Slamet in 1966. This building existed since the founding of the Regency (or called Regentschap in the Dutch colonial period) of Banyuwangi, or during the reign of the first regent Tumenggung Wiroguno I or Mas Alit in 1773.

Sritanjung Garden

Taman Sri Tanjung ‣ Taman Sritanjung is the best park and one of the icons of Banyuwangi. This place is perfect for gathering with family, recreation or just hanging out with friends. Besides the beauty of the garden, its strategic location in the middle of the city center makes Sritanjung Park frequented by residents of Banyuwangi. The 15,000 M2 Sritanjung Park is also recognized as an example of a beautiful city park with green area that is open to anyone who wants to visit and relax.

Batik Factory

Batik Factory ‣ Batik has become an icon of Indonesian culture, since UNESCO set batik as a cultural heritage on 2 October 2009. Many areas in Indonesia have batik handicrafts, each of which has its own distinct patterns, including Banyuwangi. The regency at the eastern end of Java Island also has batik as one of its cultural riches. Batik Banyuwangi has different motifs with batiks in other regions, such as Yogyakarta and Solo. However, if withdrawn from its origins, the creation of Banyuwangi batik is not separated from the existence of Mataram Sultanate – the forerunner of Yogyakarta and Solo.

The Forest of Benculuk

The Forest of Benculuk ‣ This forest was originally a building used as a railway management site. But now, the forest that has trembesi trees has transformed into a tourist destination. Many of visitors riding motorcycle and car coming to this forest that looks like the scene in the movie Lord of The Rings. The forest is usually crowded in the afternoons, when the sunlight vaguely enters between trees in the woods.

Ijen Crater

Ijen Crater ‣ Ijen Crater is the crater of Mount Ijen that has a beautiful panorama. On the peak visitors can enjoy breathtaking scenery that may not be seen in other mountain craters. One of the special phenomenon that can be seen at Ijen crater is the blue fire because of sulfur. It is said that there are only 2 places in the world where we can see craters like this. This blue fire can only be seen when it is dark or at night.
