Kelimutu Volcano & Lake Tour (4 Days / 3 Nights)

DAY 1: MAUMERE (OR ENDE)

Transfer from hotel in Bali to the airport for the flight to Maumere. Upon arrival in Maumere on the island of Flores you will be picked up by our tour guide. Transfer to the hotel for check in and overnight stay.

DAY 2: MAUMERE – MONI (B)

After Breakfast, visit Wuring a fishing village in Maumere. Then visit Ledalero Museum, a small museum where you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Proceed to Sikka, known for is old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. Stop at Paga Beach for time to relax and if you like you can swim here. Next visit is to traditional village Jopu. Then go to Moni for check in at hotel and overnight stay. In late afternoon or evening you could explore the small village of Moni on foot.

DAY 3: MOUNT KELIMUTU – ENDE (B)

Early morning, depart to the Kelimutu volcano. A short walk (around 30 minutes) will take you to the lookout point to wait for the sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Known for its famous 3 colour lakes: turquoise, brown and black.  It is the dissolved minerals that give the lakes different colours. Go back to hotel for breakfast and check out hotel. Then leave for Ende. Visit the house of exile of the first Indonesian president Soekarno, and if time permits also visit the village of Wolotopo and see beautiful panorama from Nuabosi.  Check in hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Free at your own leisure until the time for check out. Check out hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight back to Bali. Upon arrival at airport in Bali, transfer service to the hotel.

Wuring fishing village

Wuring a fishing village ‣ a fishing village located on the outskirts of the city of Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara. Wuring Village is a village where many residents’ houses are built above the sea. Even though the coastal area is used as residence complex, the sea water here is still quite clear. The majority of the inhabitants in this village are the Bajo people coming from South Sulawesi.

Ledalero Museum

Ledalero Museum ‣ This unique museum is owned by the High Seminary Paulus Ledalero. The uniqueness of this museum lies in its collections, ranging from cultural instruments pre – history of the Palaeolithicum era, Mesolithicum, Neolithicum, Bronze era, Precious Stone age, fossils of fauna and flora to contemporary art and cultural collections of the people of Flores and East Nusa Tenggara.

Sikka

Sikka ‣ Sikka is a regency within East Nusa Tenggara province. Its capital is Maumere. Sikka is known for is old church from 1899 and also known for its ikat woven clothes. Almost every market in the city of Maumere has ikat sellers.

Koka Beach

Paga Beach ‣ Koka Beach is one of the beaches located on the Maumere border, precisely at Paga District, East Nusa Tenggara. Its crystal clear water and beautiful scenery will amaze every visitors to this beach. The winding road to this beach has beautiful panoramic view of green fields and mountains.

Jopu village

Jopu Village ‣ Jopu village is one of the most attractive attractions to see in Flores. Visitors can see the process ikat weaving. This village is a tribal village that is beautifully preserved. Here, the woodcarvings on the doorways, benches, and walls are particularly interesting.

Moni Village

Moni Village ‣ Moni is a small town located at the foot of Mount Kelimutu and is the gateway to Lake Kelimutu. Around this place, many hotels or inns are available. In the shadow terminal many locals offer services to find lodging. There is also a traditional market which operates only on Mondays. Various woven fabrics, agricultural products, livestock and other products are widely traded in this market.

Mount Kelimutu

Kelimutu Volcano ‣ Mount Kelimutu is a volcano in Flores. The most famous attraction here for travellers is the tri-colored Kelimutu lake within the summit of the craters at 1690m above sea level. It consists of three lakes of varying colours, making them very special and exciting to visit. One of these lakes is blue. The other two lakes are green and red respectively and only separated by the crater walls.

Ende

Ende ‣ Ende is the biggest city in Flores Island, located on the southern coast. The Bung Karno Exile House in Ende is the place where Soekarno, the first president of Indonesia, was sentenced to exile as a political prisoner from the year 1934 to 1938.
