This mountain tour visits two most iconic volcanic craters in Java, the Bromo and Ijen crater, showcasing the majestic experience of sunrise at Bromo and Ijen crater lake with its electric blue flames from the volcanoes at dawn, with its sulfur mining (if it does not rain or when weather permits). This tour is excellent for those who love mountains, adventurous hikers and nature lovers to complement their experiences at other destinations such as Yogyakarta and Bali.
DAY 1: SURABAYA – MOUNT BROMO (D)
Upon arrival at airport or train station in Surabaya, you will be met by our tour guide and direct transfer to hotel in Mount Bromo area in a three and a half hour drive.
Check in hotel for overnight stay. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.
DAY 2: MOUNT BROMO SUNRISE (B,D)
At 04.00 am, with a 4 wheel-drive vehicle go to view Kingkong Hill to see and enjoy the amazing sunrise and beautiful panorama (depending on weather). Still by a 4 wheel-drive vehicle, cross the sea of sand then climb up 245 stairs to reach the top of Mount Bromo.
Back to hotel for breakfast, then drive to Probolinggo train station to take Mutiara Timur Siang train departing at around 11.00. Enjoy a four-hour train ride to admire Javanese countryside around southern coast of Java. You will arrive at Karangasem Train Station at around 15.15. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Dinner at hotel.
DAY 3: IJEN – AIRPORT FOR DEPARTURE (B)
At 04.00 am start hiking to Ijen Crater. You need flashlight, warm jacket, hiking shoes, gloves and masks. The crater is filled with a haunting turquoise blue-lake. If the weather permits, you can see the phenomenon of Blue Fire at Ijen Crater.
Return to hotel for breakfast. Check out hotel and transfer to the airport in Surabaya for departure to the next destination.

Kingkong Hill ‣ There are several sunrise spots around Bromo area and the majority of visitors usually enjoy the moment of sunrise from Penanjakan Hill. Another beautiful spot which is more comfortable and beautiful according to most people is Kingkong Hill.
Mount Bromo ‣ This is an active volcano and part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park that covers a massive area of 800 square km. in East Java. At 2,329 meters it is not the highest peak in the region but is the most well-known. Mt Bromo has particular significance for the Tengger people who believe that this was the site where a brave prince sacrificed his life for his family. The people here appease the Gods once a year during the annual Kasada festival where offerings of vegetables, chickens and money are thrown into the crater of the volcano.
Karangasem Train Station ‣ Karangasem Railway Station is the nearest railway station to downtown Banyuwangi. It is located in Bakungan District, Glagah. The name Karangasem is taken from the hamlet where the railway station is located. In between Karangasem station and Rogojampi, there is Kabat Station which has been no longer in operation since the 1990s.
Ijen Crater ‣ Ijen Crater is the crater of Mount Ijen that has a beautiful panorama. On the peak visitors can enjoy breathtaking scenery that may not be seen in other mountain craters. One of the special phenomenon that can be seen at Ijen Crater is the blue fire because of sulfur. It is said that there are only 2 places in the world where we can see craters like this. This blue fire can only be seen when it is dark or at night.
